• Prepare annual instructional outlines as well as daily lesson plans comprised of goals, objectives, learning activities, and assessments based on state-, federal-, and school board-approved curricula.
• Serve as custodian to manage receipt and distribution of Bald Eagle feathers and plumes for graduating seniors' Eagle Feather ceremony according to Native American customs, National Eagle Repository permits for Native Americans using eagle parts for religious purposes, and educational policy related to eagle property program for the school.
• Promote a positive relationship among home, school, and community tribe within a diversified system while developing cultural awareness of federal laws pertaining to the religious freedoms of indigenous peoples protections, including the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act of 1990, the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993, and the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act of 2000.
• Apply current technologies to enhance and motivate students for academic, personal, cultural, and college prep success.
• Contribute to, manage, and adhere to student individual education plans (IEPs).
• Actively involve students in the development and implementation of the classroom and school discipline codes.
• Engage in professional development and facilitate trainings with colleagues.

• Develop, lead, evaluate, and improve outdoor environmental education science programs for a variety of age groups (0-99+) visiting the refuge's Prairie Wetlands Learning Center of the Fergus Falls Wetland Management District located in the Prairie Pothole Region.
• Provide outreach and education focusing on the Endangered Species Act of 1973, including the special concerned, threatened, endangered, and extinct flora and fauna related to the learning center's grounds, as well as the impacts of unlawful wildlife trafficking, poaching, and habitat destruction.
• Coordinate with refuge law enforcement officials to search refuge's (frozen) inventory of confiscated, surrendered, and poached migratory specimens for educational taxidermy exhibition at the learning center.
• Transport confiscated, surrendered, and poached migratory specimens from learning center with Exhibition (Dead) Permit to taxidermists with approved federal permits under the Migratory Bird Permit program.
• Plan, develop, coordinate, and execute National Wildlife Refuge System Centennial event, including planning budget, ordering supplies, advertising, collaborating with refuge staff, implementing safety plan, and even securing (and taken a few turns wearing) the NWRS Blue Goose mascot costume as well as a Minnesota Prairie Chicken Society's Greater Prairie Chicken costume.

• Responsible for counting Atlantic White Cedar tree population and documenting surrounding flora and fauna using Geographical Positioning Satellite (GPS) data loggers along predetermined transact lines throughout the refuge's swamps.
• Work is in hot and humid swamp environment with exposure to biting insects, venomous snakes, black bear, alligators, and U.S. Department of Defense bombing ranges.
• Complete safety training in operating refuge-issued equipment, such as machetes, chain saws, vehicles, radios, data loggers, and appropriately wearing OSHA approved-personal protective equipment (PPE), such as mosquito nets, snake chaps, hearing and eye protection, and hard hats.
• Support refuge wildlife biologists in transporting endangered red wolves of the refuge's restoration program to veterinary appointments.
• Apply basic carpentry skills to replacing seasonal employee trailer floor.
